Alfred Pabilona Sr.
Alfred Pabilona Sr., 93, of Pepeekeo, died June 3, 2020, at home. Born May 21, 1927, in Pepeekeo, he was a retired tractor operator for the former Mauna Kea Agribusiness Co. in Papaikou/Pepeekeo and a member of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union (ILWU) and Aikido Club and Sensei, and a Merchant Marine (Coast Guard).

He is survived wife, Matalia Pabilona of Pepeekeo; sons, Alfred Pabilona Jr. and Bradley Pabilona of Pepeekeo; daughter, Zenda Pabilona of Pepeekeo; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Narcisa Yagin
Narcisa Gaspar Yagin, 82, of Paauilo, died June 17, 2020, in the Hale Hoola Hamakua facility in Honokaa. She was born in Banna, Ilocos Norte, Philippine Islands, on Jan. 16, 1938, and was retired from the Fairmont Orchid Hotel in Waikoloa, Hawaii as a housekeeper.
Visitation will be held 8-10:30 a.m., July 18, at St. Columba’s Episcopal Church in Paauilo. Funeral service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at the St. Columba’s Episcopal Church Cemetery in Paauilo. Facemasks required, casual attire requested.
She is survived by sons, Kim (Amy) Go of Paauilo, Danny Gaspar of Ookala, Alex (Melinda) Yagin of Paauilo and Wilson Gaspar of Las Vegas; daughter, Teresita (Hilario) Yabut of Las Vegas; brother, Miguel (Rosaline) Gaspar of Paauilo; sister, Rosaria Tabucbuc of Paauilo; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

John Kekahuna
John Ioane Kekahuna, 68, died June 21, 2020 at home. Born Nov. 28, 1951, in Lanai, he was a professional lei maker d.b.a. Hawaiian Style Lei, founder of the Maku’u Farmers Market, and was a member of the Hawaii National Guard.
A celebration of life will be held 10:30-11:30 a.m. July 25, at the Kekahuna Hale, 15-1118 Kekuewa Street, Pahoa. Lunch to follow.
Survived by his wife, Paula Kekahuna; keiki, Phillip Jr. (Ann), Ioane (Brianne), Lauae (Haili) and Melekahana (Trevor); siblings, Gladys (Pua) Amba (Primo), Adam Kekahuna, Phillip Sr. Kekahuna and Gordon (Verna) Kekahuna; seven grandchildren.

Rodney Kuahiwinui Sr.
Rodney Kuahiwinui Sr., 44, of South Point, died July 1, 2020, at Hilo Medical Center. Born June 6, 1976, in Kealakeua, he was the proprietor for Kala’e Historic Cultural Tours, a commerical fisherman and a rancher, worked for Ka’u Ice and Fishing Supplies, Bob Taylor Construction Co., and BJ Excavation, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Naalehu.
Services will be held at a later date.
He is survived by wife, Suzie Kuahiwinui of South Point; sons, Kaukani (Kauwila) Waiwaiole and Rodney Kuahiwinui, Jr. of Hawaii; daughters, Rodalynn (Chaseten) Kuahiwinui and Samantha (Jordan) Kuahiwinui of Hawaii; sisters, Nora (Donny) Lance and Emma S. Akiu of Hawaii; brothers, Paul (Cliffann) Kuahiwinui of Hawaii and Dwayne Kuahiwinui of California; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Windell Berry
Windell “Ray” Berry, 82, of Kailua-Kona, died July 2, 2020, at Nakamaru Hale in Holualoa. Born July 8, 1937, in Silverton, TX, he was a retired insurance agency owner, a former commissioner and constable for Potter County in Amarillo, TX, and a U.S. Navy veteran.
Private service held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lutheran Church of the Holy Trinity or to Hospice of Kona.
He is survived by wife, Patricia Berry of Kailua-Kona; daughter, Dawn Roberts; sons, Robin Berry, Colyn Berry; brothers, Gene Berry, Keith Berry, Jimmy Berry all of Texas; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
