I was totally appalled by the hateful attitude of Marion Hughes’ My Turn opinion in WHT on June 26. In response to Henry Scroggin’s letter “Winning,” Ms. Hughes slandered his name and attempted to harm his business simply because she did not like his opinion on politics. I guess there is no level low enough for liberals to stoop to in order to spread their tired doctrine of fake news and moral superiority.

West Hawaii Today, you have finally revealed your true editorial bias. You not only allowed Hughes’ letter to be printed, you gave her a quarter page and large headlines with the word “Realtor” highlighted to make sure no one missed it! If I was Mr. Scroggin, I would file suit against you immediately. No sane person could ever believe this was a simple, overlooked mistake. Is this the new normal?
Hughes’ letter proves that Trump Derangement Syndrome has so infected a large portion of our country that the simple act of writing a letter to the newspaper, wearing a T-shirt or hat, putting a sign in your yard, or watching Fox News, can ostracize you from friends, family and those who disagree with you, and sometimes endanger your safety. This is all by design, orchestrated by extreme media bias in order to de-legitimize an election, sow discord among the populace, and hopefully remove a duly elected president. We are becoming a Banana Republic.
Ms. Hughes: Maybe you should get your nose out of CNN and MSNBC’s fake news, and all the rest of the American Pravda mainstream media. Fox News, who you chastise, is the only mainstream news source that does not spout the same phony, liberal party line that permeates our society.
When did having a different opinion from the mob make someone the enemy? You, Ms. Hughes, probably believe in free speech, but only when it agrees with your views, otherwise, it’s “off with their heads.”
