I, along with many others (how many we really don’t know), feel we were treated unfairly recently.
It was called preferred presidential balloting. I registered but wasn’t really, as I went to three different locations to finally find it at the Old Airport. We must do this again starting at 10 a.m. and going to 5 p.m. and get all Democrats to vote.
Do you know why the turnout was so great? We’ve been Bushed twice, we don’t need to be double Clintoned.

Gabbard bucking the system
Brian Schatz and Mazie Hirono, you just lost my vote for going along with the pack. Tulsi Gabbard is someone with the guts to buck the system and back someone who really cares. She and Bernie Sanders are the only two people I see who care about us.
I’d like to know how Hillary Clinton gets superdelegate votes in states that Sanders won the popular vote?
I am so proud of all the young people who turned out to vote for Sanders. They are very aware of how our government works, but not for us.

Eating sustainably helps globe
With the 47th annual observance of Earth Day just around the corner, this is a great time to explore more effective ways of slowing climate change and conserving Earth’s natural resources for future generations.
A 2010 UN report charged animal agriculture with 19 percent of man-made greenhouse gases — more than all transport — and recommended a global shift to a vegan diet. A subsequent World Watch study placed that contribution closer to 50 percent. Meat and dairy production also dumps more water pollutants than all other human activities combined. It is the driving force in global deforestation and wildlife habitat destruction.
Last fall, England’s prestigious Chatham House declared that reducing meat consumption is critical to achieving global climate goals. A report from Oxford University found that global adoption of a vegan diet would reduce greenhouse emissions by two thirds. The 2015 U.S. Dietary Guidelines Advisory Committee has recommended reduced meat consumption and an environmentally sustainable diet.
Just as we replace fossil fuels by wind, solar, and other sustainable energy sources, we must replace animal foods with the more sustainable vegetables, fruits, and grains. Being mindful of this can help us make better choices at the supermarket.

Mooring will take bay away forever
I moved into Kona Mansions on Walua Road in February, 1975. Walua Road was a beautiful, quiet country lane. A house was built near the south end. Then Walua Professional Center was built. Now there are five large buildings with another being built. On the makai side, 57 four-plex homes went in. The country lane is gone, never to return.
I go to Keauhou Bay and drink in the peaceful, quiet, serene beauty of the bay. No matter where I stand I see all of the bay from one shore to the other.
Now DOBAR proposes seven more moorings. Half the bay will be a parking lot for boats. The beauty of the bay is compromised. Another piece of Hawaii is gone. Lost forever.
