Mother’s Day event returns to Keauhou Bay Resort
The relationship between Halau Kalaakeakauikawekiu and Sheraton Keauhou Bay Resort and Spa is showcased on May 12 when the oceanfront resort hosts the second annual “Mama … My Mama, I Love You” event.
Presented by Halau Kalaakeakauikawekiu, the Mother’s Day celebration outdoors under the stars on the resort’s Bay View Lawn includes a dinner buffet with entertainment by Na Hoku Hanohano award-winning performers Sean Naauao, Robi Kahakalau, Kaumakaiwa “Lopaka” Kanakaole and Natalie Ai Kamauu.
“Our first show last year was so successful we wanted to continue and bring even more elements to honor mothers in the true Hawaii tradition,” said kumu hula and halau founder Kenneth “Aloha” Victor. “This year’s celebration of Hawaiian chant, dance, music and, of course food, is a wonderful way for anyone to enjoy a special evening with mom.”

The halau practices on site at the resort each Wednesday and Saturday and guests are welcome to observe.
