The Kona Community Aquatic Center reopened Tuesday morning after a safety upgrade to the pool’s drainage system.
Parks and Recreation officials announced the reopening Tuesday afternoon. The county is replacing drain covers with newer, safer versions that meet federal standards to address potential entrapment issues, officials said.
The pool is open 6 a.m. to 7:45 p.m. weekdays and 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekends.
