Setsuko Shimazu, 85, of Hilo died June 26, 2013, at the Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born Sept. 22, 1927, in Honolulu, she was a retired nurse’s aide for Hilo Medical Center and member of Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.
Friends may call at 1 p.m. July 8 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a 2 p.m. service. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by daughters, Sandra Shimazu of Los Angeles, Sybil (Reuben Neubauer) Shimazu of Laihana, Maui; sisters, Sumiko Ikeda of Honolulu, Elsie Mochizuki of Kailua-Kona; numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
