Second- and third-graders at Hawaii Preparatory Academy will present “Geology Rocks!” at 2 p.m. Nov. 22 at the Gates Performing Arts Center on the school’s upper campus. The musical performance is free and open to the public.
“Geology Rocks!” is presented in conjunction with the students’ science curriculum. HPA’s lower school music teacher Georgia Polakova directs.
Professor Rock has vanished, and his geology students must find him. With help from Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson, they set out to find their teacher. The mystery leads to some dyspeptic volcanoes on the Big Island, mountains on the rise, ferns who want to become fossil fuel and even Snow White and her seven little miners.
This is the second in a series of musical productions by the lower school students. The kindergarten and first-grade classes will perform at 2:15 p.m. Feb. 7.
