Friends of the Libraries, Kona Book Club meets at 11 a.m. Tuesday on the Kailua-Kona Public Library lanai.
This month’s selection is “The Martian” by Andy Weir. Astronaut Mark Watney is part of a team sent to the Red Planet. Through a series of tragic events, he is left behind, stranded, and facing certain death. The story is told mostly through log entries chronicling his efforts to survive until the next scheduled mission arrives in four years.
The club will next meet in March to discuss “Into Africa: The Epic Adventures of Stanley and Livingstone” by Martin Dugard.
