Confused on Pele reverence
Hawaii is full of Christians and churches. I don’t understand why they still stick with a pagan god, Pele.
Hawaiians still do blessings for new construction. Is that part of the old pagan tradition or Christian tradition? There was a blessing for the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope and we all know how that turned out.

Where’s the real news?
It’s easy to see how mind-controlled the mainstream population is.
Here are some facts CBS, ABC, CNN, MSLSD and the others won’t put out there. There are 2.7 million children with a parent in prison and 400,000 kids in foster care. But somehow all our mainstream media is focusing on 2,000 illegal immigrants (aka undocumented persons), who broke our laws and got separated from their kids temporarily?
I’m a loving and compassionate person and a patriot who’s pretty tired of our dim-liberal society and all this drive-by news.

Energy rates need
better explanation
My reply is regarding the letter published on July 2 written by Mr. Mangelsdorf.
When the author writes about the rates, why does he not reference the fact that the R rate has three tiers, one for the first 300 kWh used (34.1154), the next for 301 to 1,000 (37.5510), and the final one above 1000 kWh (38.6776)?
These are the PUC authorized figures for July 2018, but no one can say that it will or won’t hit 40 cents by the end of the year. If anyone can, then please give me the numbers for the winning lottery.
The reasons pointed out I have no argument with, however, one of the items mentioned is high usage. What are the reasons for this factor? Is it the utility or the consumer?
One additional item, this month’s rate, both R and G (as well as J and P) are the highest since January 2015. Every month up to now has been lower.
Finally, have you checked the price of gasoline lately? Seems that that commodity has increased faster than our electricity.

President behaves
like appalling king
I am for one ashamed to have our president behave in such a disgusting manner. As he is quick to tag anyone who displeases his majesty with a nickname, I think he has lowered himself to “Little Adolf.”
Anyone who has children who is not outraged by his criminal acts toward the refugees seeking sanctuary with this sorry excuse for a leader should enjoy the sewage smell that reeks from every pore on his body.
There appears to be no limit to the damage this group can inflict while our smiley faced leaders in Congress bow to this evil king.
The town of Sodom took a hit when God got tired of their wicked behavior. Maybe those of us who have had enough should take a knew and pray for the removal of King Trump. He is, after all, behaving like the anti-Christ.
