Vote Hirono out
Yes, Sen. Mazie Hirono, it is “manufactured moral outrage” and I hope that you and all the other Democrats, Republicans, greens, libertarians, independents, and any other party I failed to mention are shouting it loud and clear as you look in the mirror!
If what has been happening isn’t a call for everyone to vote these people out, I really don’t know what is.

Hirono fighting the good fight
Sen. Mazie Hirono is brave, smart, and savvy — a woman who’s spoken truth to power for decades and successfully fought for the rights of all people — not just those who pay to play.
It’s laughable that a Trump minion would castigate her campaign organization for receiving a $1,000 contribution from a man who hit his wife while millions of hidden campaign dollars are given to both Republican and Democratic candidates each campaign cycle with nary a word. In fact, Republicans work tirelessly on behalf of their corporate puppeteers to block any reform measures that could otherwise help government stop prostituting itself.
Conservative Supreme Court justices and congressional Republicans work tirelessly to ensure that there’s no way of telling who (or what, because corporations aren’t people) pull the strings of elected officials. At least the donation to Hirono was traceable. Like the senator’s donor who abused his wife, corporations and multi-rich individuals (the mainstay of most congressional candidates) abuse millions of Americans by destroying their social safety nets and greedily raping their precious natural resources on behalf of their donors. Those entities can remain anonymous because of legal decisions, like Citizens United, that were upheld and supported by right-wing Supreme Court justices.
USA Today reported in September that, “U.S. Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., and Arkansas Republican state Sen. Jeremy Hutchinson were indicted for allegedly using campaign funds to pay for personal expenses such as clothing, luxury vacations, theater tickets and dentist bills…(Republican) Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley resigned last year amid a scandal that included …paying his lover’s salary with campaign funds.” The list goes on.
Christian conservatives twist themselves into knots trying to justify support for a (proven) serial womanizer and (proven) lying president; and tea party conservatives jump on Democrats who dare sound the alarm when our nation is under siege by Trump and others on the extreme right.
As for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, Sen. Hirono knows what all citizens need to understand wikiwiki: That the goal of corporate, right-wing operatives is not to share, but to control all three branches of our nation’s government. They’ve done it by trashing our nation’s institutions and offices of power, deceiving and dividing our people, stealing our elections, undermining our free press, and staying on course to demolish the democracy upon which all of us depend for good health and well-being.
Mahalo to Hawaii’s senator for standing up and speaking out.
