Be wary of con-con opponents
Voters be leery of ulterior motives when politicians, unions, environmentalist and other “do goodies” ban together for a cause. In this case to defeat the con-con. Hang on to your wallet because should this follow past trends their movement, in whatever direction, will end up costing you and me money through raised taxes and other added cost to our already excruciating high cost of living in Hawaii.
What really is wrong with giving con-con its needed chance to right other wrongs that have cropped up since the last con-con, 40 years ago, which in itself is absurd.

Mazie, really, Rachel Maddow … when did she ever poll your politics? Your money effort really kicked in after your fiasco with the Supreme Court hearings.
You’re in lockstep with the Dems that shouted demise before the named was ever revealed. You expect a lifetime appointment, as your party promotes, but tried your best to block the same for a much more qualified applicant to the court.

We’re a country of open arms
I’m sure you’re aware of our country’s current immigration policy. Our current government has made it troublesome for immigrants from other countries to enter the U.S. to seek a better life, have an improved quality of life, etc. But the Trump Administration has taken the option of asylum-seeking off of the table.
The immigrants who come to America have been turned away, taken to court, and deported back without the option to stay and seek asylum. This needs to be addressed and improved. A way that we can help these individuals is find a better plan of asylum so they’re not instantly deported, but instead, are assisted and given a chance to seek a better life, even if they’re not residents of the country.
Many families and individuals come from different countries, specifically from Central and South America to immigrate from their country and find a better life in the U.S. These families are ripped apart at the border; mothers taken to different camps, children taken away forcefully, and when they’re brought together, the children have a sense of abandonment with their parents; but it’s not their fault.
We need to show consideration to those who are trying to seek asylum from the difficulties of their home country. This country alone was founded by immigrants with the need of seeking asylum, so being the developed country we are, we should give help to those in need. We can turn abandoned structures into temporary housing, we can give job opportunities to help them gain skills they could use if they’re given residence.
When detaining immigrants, there should be humanitarian aid and assistance to help those who need it. We can put together families and bring them together, we can help those who are sick and they can get well. America knows what it’s like to not have help, so why would we turn away those that need it most?
