Mandates are
not laws
The five people who were arrested at the health summit in August 2020 for violating the emergency proclamation, completed their court cases a few months ago. One person plea-bargained. The other four continued to stand for their constitutional rights and eventually all charges were dropped.
Mandates are not laws. To have a law, legislation has to get together and vote on it. That has never happened. Yet, people continue to follow mandates and freely give up their rights.
Forty-five states have lifted the mask mandate. Hawaii is not among them. Did you know breathing in your own carbon dioxide and bacteria negatively affects your nasal passages, throat, and teeth? For children, it will affect their emotional state for the rest of their lives!
A friend met with Mayor Mitch Roth and had a doctor’s note stating that her child’s health issues, which included earaches, sinus issues, and daily headaches, were due to continual mask use. Roth took her info, along with 22 other parents complaining of similar issues, and met with Gov. David Ige and Health Director Libby Char. The governor said that wasn’t enough to end the mandate. I sent that info to over 1,700 people who are now on my Hawaii Freedom list, asking them to contact the governor directly if their child is having health issues due to mask use.
I would like to know the science behind the effectiveness of wearing a mask for protection against a virus because I’ve never found any. Wearing a mask long-term is not normal. Yet people walk around covering their God-given nose and mouth. This is Hawaii where breath is in the very name of these islands. When is it time to stand up and say, we will not live in fear and will no longer accept unlawful mandates?
I know you may not agree with my letter and the one thing I’ve appreciated about your paper is you honor the first amendment.
