Hard choice, for suer
Kudos to the police commission for presenting us with such well-qualified candidates for the chief of police position. Hard choice, for sure.

Aloha in all its glory
By definition of the Hawaiian Spirit Law, “aloha spirit” is the coordination of mind and heart within each person. It brings each person to the self. Each person must think and emote good feelings to others. It means mutual regard and affection and extends warmth in caring with no obligation in return.
The other day, while I was tucking a flower behind my husband’s ear, my cellphone fell out of my pocket and hit the ground. I didn’t notice this but a young man driving by did. He retrieved my phone, and all of the ID and cards that slipped out, and drove around to track us down. He spotted us crossing the road at a red light where he was stopped. “Aloha! I have your cellphone and ID! You were tucking a flower behind your husband’s ear and you didn’t notice it drop!”
I was in shock. He passed it into my hand and the light turned green and he was off before I could thank him properly.
The thing you try never to have happen when you are away from home did. And this sweet man went out of his way to save my day. Bless his aloha spirit.

Griner trade makes
US look weak
The original (since deleted) tweet by Dallas Cowboys player Micah Parsons is the same as my thoughts. Any trade for an arms dealer nicknamed the ‘merchant of death’ should have included ex marine Paul Whelan to be of equal value. Putin got the best of the United States in this deal. Maybe Brittney Griner was not treated fairly, but she did break the Russian law. In the past she did not respect the American national anthem by taking a knee during the playing.
Britney Griner has gotten a lot more press than Paul ever got. It seems the press and Biden thinks Britney is more important than Paul, an ex marine. Shouldn’t Paul Whelan have been viewed as the most critical part of any deal?
Paul has already been in Russia prison for four years, which is way longer than Britney served. Biden gave away his bargaining power and the trade makes the U.S. look weak.
