Public needs to push back against proposed water rate increase
We just had an 11% increase in our water bill. Now they want an additional 13% increase. And this would only last one year. In 2022, they’ll be back for more. People, we must rebel against this. The county Water Board is the most corrupt governmental organization on the island. And that’s saying a lot.

Removing mask to sneeze defeats purpose
On Sunday, I was shopping at our local Costco, when I heard a man sneezing. I looked over and he had removed his mask to sneeze, not once but twice. He was with his significant other and two very young children in the shopping cart.
I was shocked to see someone removing their mask to sneeze. At the very least, you could have kept your mask in place to protect others including your significant other and your very young children. You could have sneezed into your elbow.
It is careless individuals like you, that should remain home if you are ill. Otherwise, I am speechless as to your stupidity and lack of kokua for your fellow shoppers.

Regarding Trump: If you cheat — “outright everybody knows cheating” — then you lose. Not I cheated the most, so I win. You cheat, you lose. End of story. We’re not looking for the best cheater.

All lives matter
I have had more than enough of Black Lives Matter. It should be all lives matter. I am from as the Hawaiians say, “mixed plate.” God created all of us. He don’t look at us as black or white. We should be thankful that God don’t judge us by our color or race.

“Wake up, PUC,” a Sept. 23 letter to the editor in support of Honua Ola, misstates the cost of electricity generated by the Keahole power plant.
The Keahole facility is one of the most efficient on the Hawaiian Electric system and at no time has the cost ever been close to 30 cents. The present cost is about 10 cents per kilowatt-hour, making it one of the least expensive sources of power on the island.
