More than a dozen North Hawaii residents lined Mamalahoa Highway in Waimea on Tuesday afternoon to show their support for the men and women in blue of the Hawaii Police Department amid National Police Week. For this week’s Hometown Heroes, West Hawaii Today is honoring the officers who have given the ultimate sacrifice and those who continue to put their lives on the line each day to keep Hawaii Island safe.
