The ohana of Kona Pacific Public Charter School spent a recent Sunday cleaning up a popular North Kona beach.
The public charter school located in Kealakekua held its second annual Community Beach Clean-Up with Aaron at Clean Reward$ on Oct. 10 at Kohanaiki Beach Park in North Kona. The event also featured music by Jeff Tree.
Student Daisy said it felt good to take part in the clean-up event, in which students also earned rewards for free items.
“So many strangers thanked us for what we were doing,” she said.
Noah L. added “helping with the beach clean-up was an awesome experience. I get to help the Earth one step at a time with each small piece of trash.”
For Dominique it was a way to give back.
“Thank you Ocean for all you give us! Happy to keep da beach clean. Malama Kahakai,” said Dominique.
