His display shares space with the third annual Holidays in Waimea Pop-Up featuring a variety of home decor and gifts created by big island artisans which will be open through Christmas Eve.
While Kayton’s work customarily focuses on Hawaii’s people and their culture, he will also include some European paintings in the month-long exhibit which recall his annual trips through Italy and France. He shipped the stone for this sculpture from Carrara, Italy, in 1994 following a class in marble-sculpting offered in Pietrasanta by Paola Raffo. Kayton will occasionally be working on site.
A variety of koa wine sculptures, clocks, lamps and other customized gift items by his sister, Verna Keoho, will be included in his show.
The store will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays Nov. 26 through Dec. 24.
