HOLUALOA — The Donkey Mill Art Center is serving up its 12th annual Cool Fusion: Festival of 1,000 Bowls, featuring oodles of noodles, handmade ceramic ware, live performances by Kona Dance and Performing Arts, Big Island Music Academy and more. This annual fundraiser raises vital funds to support art education at the Mill and throughout the community.
The event will be held at Keauhou Shopping Center from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $25 before the event; available at Kona Stories in Keauhou Shopping Center, at the Donkey Mill Art Center in Holualoa or online at https://coolfusion2018.eventbrite.com. Tickets will be $30 at the door. Ticket purchase includes unlimited somen noodles, entertainment, and a bowl (valued up to $20) of your choosing. For an additional fee, purchase a gelato bowl priced at $15 and up and receive a generous scoop of refreshing gelato.
Here’s how it works: buy a ticket, choose a bowl among the more than 1,000 made specially for the occasion and fill it up with an onolicious lunch of homemade somen noodles. If there’s room in for dessert, purchase a handmade gelato bowl and receive a ticket for a scoop of Kona’s own Gypsea Gelato.
Additional handmade ceramic items will be on hand to further tempt for as little as $15. Come feast your eyes on the broad selection of ceramics made by talented artists from near and afar, all of whom will all vouch for the difference you can make in supporting the arts with your purchase.
