Police warn of accident near Honolii Bridge

Motorists are asked to avoid Highway 19, near the Honolii Bridge in Hilo, because of a traffic accident, according to a news release issued by the Hawaii Police Department at 8:39 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the highway, also known as Hawaii Belt Road, is closed and expected to reopen in approximately two hours. A detour has been set up through Paukaa. No further information was available at press time.
