Flash flood watch remains in effect

A flash flood watch remains in effect for the Big Island through 6 a.m. Saturday, according to National Weather Service forecasters in Honolulu.

Additional rainfall of up to 2 inches is expected on already saturated grounds Friday night. The western side of the Big Island is expected to see the highest rainfall totals.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is very dangerous and it does not have to be raining where you are for flash flooding to occur.
