A 46-year-old Mountain View man is in federal custody for allegedly violating his probation on marijuana distribution charges.
Aaron George Zeeman was arrested Wednesday night. He has a hearing at 10:45 a.m. today before U.S. District Judge Leslie Kobayashi to determine if his probation will be revoked.
Zeeman, who was one of the “Green 14” co-defendants in the highly publicized Roger Christie marijuana distribution case, was sentenced June 19 by Kobayashi to two years probation.
Zeeman admits to having taken Marinol, a capsule containing tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the active ingredient in marijuana. He says the medication, for which he has a prescription, helps lessen his dependence on narcotic painkillers for rat lungworm disease.
He filed a federal civil lawsuit last month against the federal probation office and three probation officers for their refusal to allow him either medical marijuana or Marinol. The suit alleges their refusal violates his rights to due process, equal protection, equal treatment and privacy.
He also alleges the denial of his request for either marijuana or Marinol violates the Americans with Disabilities Act and is cruel and unusual punishment.
