More than 2,500 visitors and residents Saturday enjoyed a sunny day in Holualoa Village to celebrate the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival. Produced by the Holualoa Village Association and Kona Coffee Farmers Association, the event hosted more than 36 Kona coffee farms, each sharing samples of their fresh-roasted brews in hopes of winning the People’s Choice award.
Receiving the most votes was Holualoa’s Heavenly Hawaiian Kona Coffee, followed by Oka Farms. There was a tie for third place place between Mr. Bean and Waiaha River Coffee Company.
The annual event is sponsored by Mountain Thunder Kona Coffee and the Holaualoa Inn.
