NEW YORK — Carmelo Anthony scored 25 points, Amare Stoudemire added 16 points and 11 rebounds, and the New York Knicks dropped the Philadelphia 76ers to 0-13 with a 91-83 victory on Saturday night.
Jose Calderon made his season debut for the Knicks, who had lost consecutive games but had an easy time against a team that was every bit as bad as its record for most of the game.
The 76ers are the first team to drop their first 13 games since the 2009-10 Nets lost 18 straight during the worst start in NBA history. The Sixers are nearing their franchise-worst start of 0-15 in 1972-73, when they finished 9-73 for the worst 82-game mark in league history.
SUNS 106, PACERS 83
INDIANAPOLIS —Gerald Green led all scorers with 23 points and Phoenix remained one of the hottest teams in the NBA after its road win over Indiana.
Phoenix (9-5) got its fourth straight win, all on the road during a six-game trip. The Pacers’ two-game winning streak was snapped. Indiana (5-8) had won four of its previous five.
Markieff Morris added 13 for Phoenix, and Goran Dragic had 11. Isaiah Thomas pitched in with 16 points off the bench for the Suns.
Indiana was led by Rodney Stuckey, who scored 14 points. Solomon Hill scored 13 and Ian Mahinmi had 12 points and 10 rebounds after playing the final 2 1/2 quarters in place of Roy Hibbert, who left midway through the second quarter with a sprained left ankle.
HEAT 99, MAGIC 92
ORLANDO, Fla. —Chris Bosh scored 14 of his season-high 32 points in the fourth quarter, leading Miami over Orlando.
Bosh’s two free throws with 6:45 left pulled the Heat out of a 77-77 tie and started a 14-4 run that put them firmly in charge of their 10th straight win against their intrastate rivals.
Nic Vucevic led Orlando with 33 points and 17 rebounds.
Mario Chalmers had 24 points and eight assists for the Heat, who shot 52 percent overall and made 12 of 26 3-pointers. Rookie Shabazz Napier added 12 points.
Victor Oladipo scored 12 points for the Magic, and rookie Elfrid Payton had nine points and five steals.
RAPTORS 110, CAVALIERS 93
CLEVELAND — Lou Williams scored a career-high 36 points, and Toronto turned an 18-point deficit into a convincing win over Cleveland, handing the Cavaliers their fourth straight loss.
The Raptors, who have won four in a row and are off to their best start, trailed 26-8 less than 4 minutes into the game, but showed why they have the best record in the Eastern Conference.
Toronto led 56-54 at halftime and took control midway in the third quarter. The Raptors led by as many as 19 points in the fourth.
Kevin Love scored 23 points to lead Cleveland. LeBron James, who spent the final 6:20 on the bench, finished with 15 points with 10 assists.
WIZARDS 111, BUCKS 100
MILWAUKEE — Paul Pierce scored 25 points and John Wall added 19 points as Washington rallied in the second half to beat Milwaukee.
The Wizards, after trailing by as many as 15 in the first half, took control of the game by outscoring the Bucks 19-8 to start the fourth quarter and grabbed a 93-78 lead when Bradley Beal hit a 17-foot jumper with 7:15 remaining.
Milwaukee fought back and cut the deficit to 104-97 with 2:13 remaining on a jumper by Ersan IIlasova. But Pierce hit a 19-foot jumper as the shot clock expired to give Washington a 106-97 lead with 1:13 remaining.
Wall then stole the inbounds pass and scored on a dunk with 1:10 remaining to put the game away.
Bradley Beal added 17 points for the Wizards, who won for the second straight night.
Brandon Knight led the Bucks with 27 points, and Giannis Anteokounmpo added 20. Milwaukee lost its second straight game and fell to 7-7 after winning three straight.
SPURS 99, NETS 87
SAN ANTONIO — Tony Parker had 22 points, and San Antonio never trailed and topped Brooklyn for its fourth straight victory.
San Antonio led by as many as 18 points in winning its 12th straight regular-season home game over the Nets.
Deron Williams had 24 points, and Mirza Teletovic had 22 for the Nets (5-8), who lost for the sixth time in seven games.
Kawhi Leonard and Danny Green each had 21 points for the defending champion Spurs (8-4).
Tim Duncan had seven points, 10 rebounds, seven assists, four blocked shots and three steals in 25 minutes. The Spurs chose to rest Duncan for the remainder of the game after the 38-year-old forward played the first 7 minutes of the second half.
ROCKETS 95, MAVERICKS 92
HOUSTON — James Harden scored 32 points, including five down the stretch, to help Houston rally for a win over Dallas.
Houston, playing without Dwight Howard (knee injury), ended its two-game skid and snapped the Mavericks’ six-game winning streak.
Dallas led by four with less than a minute remaining before Harden made two free throws. Monta Ellis missed on the other end, and Harden put Houston on top 93-92 when he made a jump shot and the ensuing free throw with 28 seconds left.
Harden stole the ball from Ellis, and Trevor Ariza made two more free throws to seal the victory.
Dallas had a chance to tie it but Dirk Nowitzki and Ellis each missed 3-pointers in the final seconds.
KINGS 113, TIMBERWOLVES 101
MINNEAPOLIS — DeMarcus Cousins had 31 points and 18 rebounds to power Sacramento to a victory over short-handed Minnesota.
Cousins hit 11 of 15 shots, and Ben McLemore had 22 points and nine rebounds to help the Kings overcome a sluggish start and improve to 8-5.
Andrew Wiggins scored a career-high 29 points and had four steals for the Timberwolves, who were missing four starters and playing the second night of a back-to-back.
The Kings outrebounded Minnesota 50-37, taking full advantage of a frontcourt missing Nikola Pekovic to injury, and Thaddeus Young after the death of his mother.
PELICANS 106, JAZZ 94
SALT LAKE CITY — Anthony Davis had a career-high 43 points and 14 rebounds, Jrue Holiday added 19 points and eight assists, and New Orleans beat Utah.
Davis shot 16 for 23 from the field to help the Pelicans earn a split of their four-game western road trip.
Gordon Hayward scored 31 points and Trey Burke had a season-high 20 for the Jazz.
Utah cut a 19-point third-quarter deficit to 77-72 by the end of the period as Hayward made four free throws over a 20-second span.
However, Holiday had a 3-pointer, and Davis had a dunk as the Pelicans used a 10-2 run to take a 13-point lead with 9:28 remaining. Utah closed within single digits one more time, pulling to 99-90 on Burke’s jumper with 3:08 left.
Rivers and Holiday drove for back-to-back layups to put the game out of reach.
