Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Thursday afternoon structure fire in Keaau.
Responding to the 2:11 p.m. report, firefighters arrived at a 28th Avenue Hawaiian Paradise Park address to find a shed-type structure engulfed in flames, according to the Hawaii County Fire Department. Four occupants reportedly in the structure, described as a single-family dwelling, at the time of the blaze escaped without injury.
The fire was declared under control within 15 minutes and extinguished at 2:30 p.m. Damage to the 480-square-foot structure was estimated at $24,000, according to the department.
