A large crowd of spectators welcomed 52 colorful entries at the 20th annual Kailua-Kona Independence Day Parade with its theme “Celebrate Freedom!” and witnessed a Fireworks Extravaganza over Kailua Bay on Saturday.
The Kailua-Kona Community Parade Association has announced that the following entries have been awarded certificates:
Nonprofit entries
Float: first, Friends of Big Island Drug Court; second, Solid Rock Ministries; third, Military Spouses
Marching: first, Disabled American Vets; second, Daughters of the American Revolution; third, Kona Veterans
Keiki: first, Kealakehe Hip Hop Spot; second – Zulu Maniacs; third, National Parks of West Hawaii
Commercial entries: first, Randal’s Health Fitness; second, Dolphin Journeys; third, Regency at Hualalai
