More than $500 in school supplies were collected during the Summer Car Show Saturday at Lanihau Center. Car owners and spectators donated backpacks, pencils, tablets and other necessities for keiki who may not have those necessities as school starts.
Nearly 50 cars and trucks from all over the Hawaii Island were on display. The Hawaii Racing Association and Transmission Technology were co-sponsors of the free public event that ran from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
