A man is in jail after drugs were found within his vehicle.
Allen A. Wong, 35, of Kailua-Kona, was pulled over at the Kona Walmart at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, police said.
The officer requested permission to search the vehicle, which Wong refused. Officers found he was driving without a license.
One of the narcotic detecting dogs was brought in to inspect the vehicle, said Maj. Samuel Thomas. It indicated there were drugs inside the car. Police then got a search warrant, Thomas said, and found drugs and paraphernalia inside.
Thomas said they recovered a container of methamphetamine and assorted prescription pills. They also found 12.5 grams of marijuana, kept within four bags.
Wong was in jail Tuesday.
