Hapa-haole hula workshop offered

Choreographer and dancer TeMoana Makolo will teach a hapa-haole hula workshop Oct. 16 in Volcano.

Attendees of Makolo’s “Hapa-Haole Hula Workshop: Hawaiian Room Style” will learn a fun hapa-haole hula routine straight from the Hawaiian Room era. Makolo worked as a choreographer and dancer in the Hawaiian Room in the 1960s. The workshop, held at Volcano Art Center off Old Volcano Road, runs from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
