Two Kona glass artists have been selected into Hawaii Glass Association Exhibition on Oahu.
Bev Goad and Leilani Pacheco-Datta are the only artists from the Big Island selected to have their glass artwork exhibited at Gallery Iolani on Oahu. Glass must play a significant role in the final piece, and must be of original design, and created within the last two years.
Featured are Goad’s piece “Dolphins” and Pacheco-Datta’s peice “IZ’S RAINBOW.” Goad used a combination of copper foil, and soldering to create her piece “Dolphins” while Pacheco-Datta’s “IZ’S RAINBOW” employed a combination of a very delicate process of burning the image in the glass, combined with stained glass done in the copper foil method, and crowned with Italian fused glass
The exhibition starts April 1 and run through May 1.
Pacheco-Datta and Goad have collaborated and worked together for over 10 years. Both have had their works displayed in galleries in Kona, Maui and Honolulu.
A percentage of the proceeds from art sales will go to Art For A Cause here in Kona. Art for a Cause, is a nonprofit promoting local artists to give them opportunity to have their art appreciated and showcased,
