Hale Nani work furlough inmate Jeremy Ward failed to return from a furlough pass to the Hilo reintegration center Saturday night. Ward left at 8 a.m. and was scheduled to return by 8 p.m. State Sheriffs and Hawaii County police were notified.
Ward is a community custody inmate in the work furlough program with pass privileges. Community custody is the lowest classification status.
The 39-year old is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 135 pounds. He has brown hair and brown eyes.
Ward was serving time for second-degree theft, first-degree bail jumping and second-degree promoting prison contraband. His next parole hearing was scheduled for November.
He faces an additional escape charge when found.
