On a recent trip with Byron Kay, owner of Kona Freedivers, a certified free diving school, the magazine’s reporter experienced Honaunau’s popular “Two Step,” noting that, “Kona provides an excellent freediving classroom thanks to near shore drop-offs and a coastline riddled with protected bays.
