Tour company Jack’s Tours, Inc. has announced that it will be closing down business.
According to a press release sent out by Jack’s Tours, the business must end operations because of the recent downturn in tourism due to the Kilauea eruption and volcanic activity on Hawaii Island. The last day of services will be July 31.
Add Jack’s to the list of several businesses that will fold due to the downturn in tourism.
Yet another case where sensational (and BS) media reporting on the mainland is devastating local economies because of their insatiable desire for clicks and viewers…
Headline longer than the article what lousy reporting. Ive heard that they have sold. Technically yes jacks is closing. But they have sold out and someone else is going to run it as a new business. Probably with a fresh approavh and new business model. Avreal reporter would be able to verify and corraborate and write an article with some news and substance. Admittedly this is what is being said on social media elsewhere but theres probably an element of truth to it. .
Something fishy here . I work in tourism and I am seeing more visitors than ever pouring into this island . It’s been like a tsunami of tourists lately . Maybe the folks are just not going for the cookie-cutter ,all day on a tour bus thing any more ? Less cruise ships = less schlubs that want to go that route of being schlepped around? Anyway , the independent arrivals are here in force .
