Albert Ide

Albert T. Ide, 93, of Hilo, died at home on Jan. 28, 2019. He was born in Honohina on April 17, 1925, and raised in Honalo. He joined the U.S. Army and served in Germany during World War II. A graduate of Hilo Commercial College, he worked for Hicks Homes and House of Carpets before owning/operating Al’s Interiors until retirement.

Private services held.

He is survived by sons, Noel (Darlene) Ide of Keaau, and Keevil (Dallas) Ide of Hilo; daughters, Robin Ide of Honolulu, and Joy (Ken) Ide-Cresci of Daly City, Calif.; a brother, Tamo (Kay) Ide of Cupertino, Calif.; sisters, Sally Nakamura, Setsu (Ted) Ozawa, and Miyo Alawa of Honolulu; two sisters-in-law; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Eugene Mamhot

Eugene Mamhot, 74, of Hilo, died Feb. 23, 2019, at Hale Hoola Hamakua. He was born in Hakalau and was a retired heavy equipment operator with Yamada & Sons, Inc.

Private services held.

He is survived by his daughter, Lauri Jean (Kevin) Saito of Hilo; son, Troy (Joy) Mamhot of Hilo; brother, Benjamin Mamhot of Hilo; sisters, Bonifacia Aceret and Josephine (Herbert) Yokoyama of Hilo; two grandsons, Jonathan and Keoni, one great-grandson; nieces and nephews.

Kinue Kanda

Kinue Nakano Kanda, 82, of Hilo, died Feb. 9, 2019, at the Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born in Kauleau, Opihikao and was a retired teacher at Waikiki Elementary School and a member of the Puna Hongwanji Mission.

Private services to be held. No koden or flowers. Donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choosing in her.

Survived by sister, Iseko Kawaguchi of Mountain View; one brother-in-law; one sister-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews.
