Staffing shortages close Keei, Keauhou transfer stations

KAILUA-KONA — The Keei Transfer Station and Keauhou Transfer Station are both closed today due to staffing shortages.

The Hawaii County Department of Environmental Management said the Keei Transfer Station in South Kona would reopen as regularly scheduled on Sunday with hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Keauhou Transfer Station in North Kona will reopen as regularly scheduled Saturday with hours from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Residents can take their waste to the Kealakehe Transfer Station or West Hawaii Sanitary Landfill (Puuanahulu) through 4:15 p.m. today.
