The ninth annual Kauikeaouli Challenge — a race for recreational outrigger canoe paddlers — was hosted and held Sunday as part of the Kauikeaouli Festival Weekend celebrations at Keauhou Canoe Club.
Crews of six men, six women and mixed crews (three men and three women) raced 5-1/2 miles from outside Keauhou Bay to Pahoehoe Park and returned to cross the finish line inside Keauhou Bay.
Keauhou has held this event for nine years, and koa medals were awarded to the top three crews in each division
