Despite pandemic, some continue camping on Maunakea

A heat lamp, pallets and other items sit unattended on the Mauna Kea Access Road Thursday. About 15 people remain on the mountain to watch the road and continue the protest against the Thirty Meter Telescope.
Even with the COVID-19 pandemic shutting down businesses and gatherings worldwide, a few holdouts are still camping alongside the Maunakea Access Road.
