Florists will be able to deliver their arrangements this Mother’s Day after Gov. David Ige late Monday added their service to the list of exemptions from the state’s stay-at-home order that remains posted through May 31.
“In late-afternoon conversations with the mayors, we decided that florists will be able to begin operations on May 1, as long as they can do so in a way that is safe for employees and customers,” Ige said in a statement noting that operations must comply with the social distancing requirements set forth in the sixth supplemental proclamation.
On Saturday, when issuing the sixth proclamation extending the stay-at-home order, Ige said deliveries wouldn’t be allowed. Mother’s Day is May 10.
