DOH reports 23 new cases of COVID-19

State health officials announced 23 new cases of COVID-19 on Wednesday, bringing Hawaii’s total number of cases to 1,094

Of the new cases, 20 were on Oahu, two were on Maui and one was on Hawaii Island, according to the COVID-19 Joint Information Center.

Oahu has recorded most of the cases with 808 positive tests since Feb. 28, followed by Maui County with 130 cases, Hawaii County with 96 and Kauai County with 42.

Of the Hawaii residents who have tested positive for COVID-19, 811 of those cases have since recovered and been released from isolation. That includes 88 of the 96 cases on Hawaii Island.

Statewide, 122 patients have required hospitalization, including three on Hawaii Island.

Of the 19 deaths reported in Hawaii, 13 were on Oahu and six were on Maui.
