Wind advisory posted

A wind advisory is in effect for interior areas of Hawaii Island until 6 a.m. Sunday.

East winds of 20 mph to 30 mph with localized gusts topping 45 mph are forecast, according to the National Weather Service.

Winds will be strongest over and immediately downwind of mountains. Forecasters cautioned the could be strong enough to down tents or other temporary structures, as well as trees. Power outages are also possible.
