Police locate woman who was reported missing


Update: Big Island police report that 30-year-old Marina Cortez of Hilo, who had previously been reported as a missing person, was located Tuesday in good health in Puna.

Big Island police are seeking the public’s assistance with locating a 30-year-old woman last seen Friday morning in the area of Kamalii Road in lower Puna in a copper colored sedan.

Marina Cortez is described as 5 feet, 5 inches tall, between 110 and 120 pounds, with shoulder-length dark brown curly hair and hazel eyes. She was last seen wearing jeans, a long-sleeved thermal sweater and a yellow shirt, according to the Hawaii Police Department.

Anyone with information about Cortez’s whereabouts is asked to call the department’s nonemergency line at (808) 935-3311.
