The state Department of Health Saturday reported 791 new cases of COVID-19 statewide, including 134 on the Big Island.
Maui County reported 71 cases, Kauai 15 and 27 were residents diagnosed out of state.
With the new cases, the Big Island’s tally reached 5,442. Hawaii County currently has a 7.6% test positivity rate, the same as the statewide rate.
According to the DOH, 7,630 new cases have been reported in Hawaii in the past 14 days, including 1,373 on the Big Island. There has been an average of 613.1 new cases the past seven days statewide with the Big Island averaging 104.4 cases per day.
Since the end of last February, 50,355 people have tested positive for COVID-19 across Hawaii.
As of Saturday there were 283 individuals hospitalized statewide including 25 on the Big Island.
Of the 548 deaths confirmed and reported by the state to date, 422 were on Oahu, 62 were on Maui, 59 were on the Big Island and two on Kauai. Five deaths were among residents outside the state.
