Kona women facing drug charges

Two Kona women are facing numerous drug offences stemming from an arrest on Friday.

Prosecuting Attorney Kelden Waltjen announced Tuesday that 44-year-old Jennifer Conway and 38-year-old Devon Henson were arrested and charged for methamphetamine-, fentanyl-, and heroin-related offenses.

Conway was charged with five offenses including two counts of second-degree promoting a dangerous drug, being in possession of 25 or more capsules, tablets, ampules, or dosage units of fentanyl, second-degree promoting a dangerous drug with possession of over an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine, third-degree promoting a dangerous drug which is possession of any amount of methamphetamine, and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia. Conway’s bail was set at $85,250.00.

Henson was charged with 11 offenses including two counts of first-degree promoting a dangerous drug for possession of over an ounce of methamphetamine, first-degree attempted promoting a dangerous drug for attempted distribution of over an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine, two counts of second-degree promoting a dangerous drug for possession of 25 or more capsules, tablets, ampules, or dosage units of fentanyl, two counts of second-degree promoting a dangerous drug for possession of over an eighth of an ounce of methamphetamine, three counts of second-degree promoting a dangerous drug for possession of over an eighth of an ounce of heroin, and prohibited acts related to drug paraphernalia. At the time of her arrest, Henson was also wanted for an outstanding district court warrant. Henson’s bail was set at $66,025.

Both women made their initial appearances Tuesday in Kona District Court where Judge Kimberly Taniyama granted each supervised release.

Conway and Henson were co-defendants in 2019 for first-degree promoting a dangerous drug and other lesser charges. Those charges were dismissed in September 2021.
