Myeni was fatally shot by Honolulu police in 2021 after he physically attacked officers, who responded when an upset occupant of a home complained a stranger had entered uninvited wearing a feathered headband and made bizarre comments. Results of studies of Myeni’s brain tissue, obtained by The Associated Press, show the 29-year-old South African rugby player had Stage 3 CTE, or brain trauma caused by repeated concussions.
