Alan Alvarez, 64, of Pahoa, died Aug. 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a construction supervisor for a private construction company and a U.S. Army veteran. Visitation 11 a.m.-noon Saturday, Oct. 21, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at noon. Urn burial to follow at Alae Cemetery. Joseph “Joe” Marquiz, 75, of North Kohala died July 1 in Hilo. Born in North Kohala, he was a retired mechanic at Mauna Lani Golf. Stanley “Tosh” Teruo Oshiro, 76, of Las Vegas, passed away Sept. 16. Born in Honoka‘a, he was a staff sergeant with the U.S. Air Force and worked 40 years with Hawaiian Airlines until his retirement. Celebration of life to be held 11 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 19 at Waimea Community Center, 65-1260 Kawaihae Rd., Kamuela. Robert “Bobby” Lee Blas, 77, of Keaau, died on Sept. 20 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired construction worker and laborer, a U.S. Army Vietnam veteran and member of the Koa Puna Motorcyle Club.
