Community clean up day set for May 25

A Maka‘eo Trail Clean Up Day is scheduled for 8 a.m.-noon on Saturday, May 25, at the Old Airport Park.

The public is invited to volunteer to help remove branches and overgrowth from the trail and other projects to keep the pathway looking beautiful. Please wear protective clothing and bring tools, water bottle, gloves, hat and sunscreen.

A free “mahalo” lunch will follow, and is being hosted by the Rotary Club of Kona. Volunteers present will be able to win prizes at a drawing.

Adult supervision is required for children 15 and younger. This event is being sponsored by Friends for Fitness, a non-profit organization. Donations are welcome at friendsforfitness.org.
