A splendid pebble crab, or etisus splendidus, is an uncommon red crab with black tips on its claws. They are nocturnal but sometimes can be seen during the day squeezed back in a crack or crevice. Spotted during a scuba dive off the Kona coast in February. (Donna R. Goodale/Community contributor)
