Daniel K. Inouye Highway reopens in both directions following fatal crash

The Daniel K. Inouye Highway has been reopened in both directions following a fatal crash Friday afternoon in South Kohala.

The Hawaii County Police Department notified residents of the highway’s reopening at 3:30 p.m., but noted one of the mauka lanes remained closed. The department asked motorists to drive with caution because Traffic Enforcement Unit investigators remain on the scene.
