Pohakuloa Training Area will open for hunting from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
Training areas three and four, the Keamuku Training Area and the portion of training area two north of Saddle Road will be open for spring bearded turkey hunting only.
Hunters may use bows or shotguns. Shotgun slugs are not permitted.
All hunters are required to check in and out of one of the following check-in stations: Kilohana, located on Saddle Road between mile markers 43 and 44; Puu Huluhulu, located at the intersection of Mauna Kea Access Road and Saddle Road near mile marker 28; or Puu Anahulu, located on Mamalahoa Highway across from mile marker 14.
Checkout time is no later than 7 p.m. each day and hunting passes will be provided at check-in stations after 5 p.m. Friday.
Hunter access to training areas two, three and four is through gates 1 to 10 on East Saddle Road, east of Pohakuloa’s main gate. Hunter access to Keamuku Training Area is through gates two and seven on Old Saddle Road, and gates 11 and 14 on Mamalahoa Highway.
